Unspoiled landscapes, rich wildlife, and intimate, exclusive African safari adventures

Botswana is a land of staggering natural beauty and remarkable wildlife diversity. With a small population and vast unspoiled landscapes, it offers one of Africa’s most exclusive safari experiences. Despite its world-class game viewing, Botswana remains largely untouristed, making it ideal for those seeking authentic and intimate encounters with nature.

From the lush waterways of the Okavango Delta to the predator-rich plains of Chobe, this safari reveals Botswana’s dramatic contrasts and unforgettable scenery. Travel by mokoro canoe, motorboat, or open 4×4 vehicle as expert guides help you explore one of Africa’s last true wilderness areas.

Details

Days 1–3: Luxury Tented Bush Camp, Chobe Enclave, Botswana

Arrive Maun, Botswana, by mid-day. Charter flight to Chobe for a three-night stay.

The area’s relative remoteness makes it a favoured wild safari destination and one of the best sought after areas in Northern Botswana. The area is best known for its enormous herds of elephants and buffalo that congregate in vast numbers.

Other resident game includes lion, sable, roan, leopard, wild dog, and plains game. The rare and elusive sitatunga antelope, red lechwe, hippo and crocodile can be found in the surrounding marshes.

Our luxury tented camp Bush Camp is a small, intimate 12 bedded tented camp on the banks of the Linyanti marshes in a private reserve, which borders the western boundary of Chobe in the Chobe Enclave. The camp is limited to small exclusive groups who seek a personalized experience in a private concession away from the main tourist routes. Activities from the camp consist of game drives, walking, spot lighting and hides.

Days 4–6: Luxury Tented Camp, Khwai Community Area, Botswana

Take a light aircraft flight to the Khwai airstrip and game drive through the concession area to our Tented Camp for the next three nights of your safari adventure.

Wildlife encountered include lion, cheetah, leopard, wild dog, as well as a multitude of other animals, including elephant, buffalo, zebra, hippo and giraffe to name a few.

Exploring after dark with spotlights offers you an opportunity to experience some of the nocturnal animals that are rarely encountered during the day – and there is also the opportunity to explore the surrounding wilderness on foot and enjoy an up close personal encounter with the varied flora and fauna in the area.

Khwai is a private community run concession on the eastern border of the Moremi Game Reserve along the river Khwai which is the sole source of water for miles around attracting wildlife from afar. A significant portion of the camps revenue flows directly back to the local community. Camp staff are also all local.

Five luxury tented suites, each with a private viewing deck for optimal views of the African bush.  All suites are elegantly furnished with king-size beds, mosquito netting, and include indoor and outdoor showers, along with a fully stocked mini bar.

Days 7–9: Island Lodge, Okavango Delta, Botswana

Transfer by charter flight to the our Island Lodge private airfield and take a ten minute boat ride to the main lodge.

The tented lodge is located on a Lagoon which  is widely accepted as being the most spectacular permanent water site in the entire Okavango Delta, located in the midst of the Kalahari sands.  This is Africa’s largest and most awe-inspiring oasis. The Okavango River rises in the highlands of Angola and never reaches the sea; instead its immense waters empty over the sands of the Kalahari. Here the great desert thirst is quenched in a wilderness of fresh water lagoons, channels and islands. In the heart of this inland delta lies the remote this Island on the edge of the beautiful Lagoon, assuring a year-round water wilderness experience.

This Island Lodge preserves privacy by hosting only 22 guests, enhanced with spacious, lagoon-facing Luxury Tents that each feature en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers and enclosed viewing decks. The lodge’s true symbiosis with its surroundings not only delivers a standout design but absolute tranquillity. All tents are generously spaced and are set within the island’s lush greenery.

The Lodge’s  adventure activities include motorboat safaris, catch-and-release fishing with supplied gear, mokoro (traditional canoe) excursions, guided walking safaris, and world-class birdwatching. Scenic helicopter flights over the Okavango Delta are available at an additional charge. This doors-off experience is fantastic for avid photographers and those keen to witness one of Botswana’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites as the birds do—from above! All activities are conducted by experienced professional guides.

Day 10: Departure

Return to Maun for your flight home or onward journey.
