Overview

A place of stunning vistas, desert, elephants, fascinating cultures and friendly people.

Namibia, the world’s 34th largest country, offers vast, unspoiled landscapes and striking natural beauty. Its harsh, dry terrain hides geological marvels like the ancient Organ Pipes and Erongo Mountains, and the hauntingly beautiful Namib Desert.

Rich in both wildlife and history, Namibia is home to rare species such as black rhinos in Etosha National Park and ancient rock art left by the Bushmen, Damara, and Namaqua peoples. Much of the country remains untouched by mass tourism, allowing visitors to explore its wild spaces and diverse habitats at their own pace. Namibia invites adventure, mystery, and a deep connection to nature.

Details

Day 1: WINDHOEK, NAMIBIA

Arrival in Windhoek, where you will be met and transferred to an elegant lodge perched on the edge of the city’s northern suburb, about 10 minutes from the city centre. This charming property offers a warm welcome and comfortable overnight accommodation to relax after your international journey.

Day 2-3: NAMIBRAND NATURE RESERVE, SOSSUSVLEI REGION

After breakfast, take a light aircraft flight to the breathtaking NamibRand Nature Reserve, a vast area of over 180,000 hectares bordering Namib-Naukluft National Park. The reserve showcases a striking variety of desert landscapes—sand dunes, gravel plains, mountain ranges, and vegetated belts—all rich in unique flora and fauna.

Your luxury desert retreat offers panoramic views and spacious, air-conditioned suites featuring shaded decks, split-level interiors, and en-suite glass-encased bathrooms. Outdoor showers allow for stargazing under African skies. Activities include 4×4 nature drives, guided desert walks, and optional quad biking.

On day 3, rise early for a guided excursion into Namib-Naukluft National Park to see the soaring red dunes of Sossusvlei at sunrise—some of the tallest freestanding dunes in the world. Learn about the desert’s formation, creatures, and resilient plant life. Arrive at an Afro-village-inspired lodge in the late afternoon for another night in this magical region.

Day 4-5: DAMARALAND, ABA HUAB & HUAB VALLEYS

After a leisurely breakfast, board a light aircraft flight to rugged Damaraland, where you’ll meet your private guide who will accompany you for the rest of your journey.

On day 5, enjoy a thrilling 4×4 safari through the ephemeral Aba Huab and Huab River valleys in search of desert-adapted elephants and other elusive wildlife. The area’s dry, mountainous terrain hides many surprises. Later, visit nearby geological marvels including the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Twyfelfontein, home to more than 2,500 ancient rock engravings, as well as Burnt Mountain and the Organ Pipes.

Desert elephants in this region travel vast distances—up to 2,000 km²—far greater than their forest or savannah counterparts. The unique ecology and cultural heritage make this one of Namibia’s most fascinating stops.

Day 6-7: ONGAVA GAME RESERVE & ETOSHA NATIONAL PARK

Travel northeast into the savannah and Mopane woodlands of Ongava Game Reserve, bordering southern Etosha National Park. This 30,000-hectare private reserve is rich in wildlife, including lion, leopard, rhino, giraffe, zebra, oryx, and Hartmann’s mountain zebra.

Enjoy afternoon and evening game drives within the private reserve, and explore Etosha National Park’s famous waterholes on a full-day safari. The Etosha Pan itself—spanning 5,000 km²—is a vast saline desert surrounded by grassland and thorn scrub, offering a remarkable concentration of wildlife at its water sources.

Return to your luxury safari lodge in time for dinner and sunset over a floodlit waterhole where nocturnal animals often visit.

Day 8-9: OKONJIMA GAME RESERVE & THE AFRICAT FOUNDATION

Continue south to the Omboroko Mountains near Waterberg, where you’ll spend two nights at a private villa in a scenic game reserve, home to the AfriCat Foundation.

This sanctuary is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and research of Africa’s large carnivores—especially cheetah and leopard. Join expert guides for leopard tracking by vehicle, visit the cheetah welfare project, or enjoy a night game drive or hide viewing for rare nocturnal species like honey badger, caracal, and porcupine.

Stay in a beautifully appointed private villa with stylish thatched suites, both with indoor and outdoor showers. A personal host, chef, and private guide ensure a bespoke experience tailored to your interests.

DAY 10 – HOMEWARD BOUND

After a final breakfast and morning activity (time permitting), you’ll transfer to the airport for your flight home, taking with you unforgettable memories of Namibia’s desert beauty, rare wildlife, and striking landscapes.
