Your journey begins in Pretoria as you board a luxury vintage train bound for adventure. Settle into your elegant suite and enjoy fine dining as the countryside rolls by.

On Day 2, choose between a thrilling Big Five game drive in Pilanesberg National Park or a championship round at the iconic Gary Player or Lost City Golf Course. Pilanesberg is home to elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards, buffalos, giraffes, and rare species like sable antelope and wild dogs.

Days 3–5: Majuba Hill, Spionkop, and Durban

Spend Day 3 relaxing on board, soaking up panoramic views as the train winds through battle-scarred landscapes and coal towns of KwaZulu-Natal.

On Day 4, choose to explore the Spionkop battlefield and spot game like white rhino, zebra, and giraffe—or play golf at the breathtaking Champagne Sports Resort in the Drakensberg.

Day 5 offers a coastal contrast: either tour Durban’s markets and botanical gardens or tee off at Beachwood Golf Club beside the Indian Ocean. This stretch blends history, nature, and championship fairways.

Day 6: Hluhluwe Game Reserve

Head out for an early morning game drive in Hluhluwe, Africa’s oldest proclaimed reserve. Known for its lush hills and leading role in rhino conservation, Hluhluwe offers a chance to spot white and black rhinos, elephants, buffalo, nyala, and the elusive leopard. You return to the train for lunch as the journey continues toward eSwatini. It’s a day of iconic wildlife paired with elegant comfort.

Day 7: eSwatini or Royal Swazi Golf

Explore the cultural heart of the Kingdom of eSwatini with a visit to Mkhaya Game Reserve and local craft centers. Look out for sable antelope, giraffe, hippos, and rare birdlife during the reserve’s morning game drive. Alternatively, opt for 18 scenic holes at the Royal Swazi Sun, tucked into forested highlands. This day blends wildlife, artistry, and tranquil fairways in one of Africa’s most unique countries.

Day 8: Kruger National Park

The day includes lunch, curio shopping, and a chance to soak in the majesty of Africa’s premier game reserve. Return to the train for an elegant evening as it climbs toward the escarpment.

In the misty highlands of Mpumalanga, choose a relaxing exploration of Dullstroom’s fly-fishing traditions, raptor rehabilitation center, and whisky distillery—or play a scenic round at Highland Gate Golf Estate, one of South Africa’s most beautiful and technical courses. This day is slower paced, letting you savor the fresh mountain air and peaceful pace before your journey ends. Whether you explore or play, it’s the perfect final contrast to the wild adventures of earlier days.

Enjoy a final breakfast on board as the train rolls into Pretoria. With your camera full of wildlife shots and golf stories to tell, disembark refreshed and enriched. Your luxury safari on rails may be over, but the memories of Africa’s wild beauty and world-class courses will travel with you long after.
