Details

Day 1: Arrival Brazzaville
Arrive Brazzaville where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Your hotel is approx. 10 minutes from the airport, with eighteen comfortable rooms with modern décor, combining luxury and serenity.  Facilities include a pool, fitness room and a terraced garden for an aperitif and meals.

Enjoy your meal from the terraced garden and relax before tomorrow’s flight.

Day 2-4: Odzala-Kokoua National Park Area

Begin your journey with a scenic flight to M’Boko Airstrip, followed by a drive into the heart of Odzala-Kokoua National Park. Your camp, nestled in dense forest and overlooking Lango Bai—a natural forest clearing rich with mineral deposits—offers a front-row seat to wildlife activity. Spend your days exploring this remote wilderness on guided walks through streams, bais, and salines, day and night game drives, and tranquil pirogue rides along the Lekoli River. Spot unique birds, elusive mammals, and even try your hand at catch-and-release fishing.

Activities are paced to allow both adventure and rest, with time between excursions to relax and take in the forest surroundings. Evenings bring a different magic as you head out on night drives to witness the forest’s nocturnal life. With expert guides, comfortable accommodations, and extraordinary biodiversity, this short but immersive stay offers a rare glimpse into one of Africa’s most pristine and captivating ecosystems.

Day 5-7: Western Lowland Gorilla Treks

Travel by road to the next camp, passing through sweeping savannahs, dense forest, and the local Mbomo Village. Upon arrival, receive a detailed briefing on the Western Lowland Gorillas and what to expect when tracking the habituated groups in this unique region. Your first gorilla tracking excursion begins on foot with an expert guide and tracker, leading you through the forest to encounter these majestic primates in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to camp for a well-earned brunch and enjoy the midday hours at leisure. Later in the afternoon, take a guided walk along the forest trails in search of birds and mammals.

The following days offer more opportunities to connect with the forest and its wildlife. Set out on a second gorilla tracking experience, followed by brunch, a siesta, and another peaceful forest walk. Evenings are spent on the main deck with sundowners in hand, taking in the sights, sounds, and earthy fragrances of the African rainforest.

On your final day, embark on one last gorilla trek, guided once again by local experts. Upon return, enjoy a final walk through the forest for a last chance to witness the area’s remarkable biodiversity.

Day 8: Homeward Bound
After breakfast depart for the airstrip (a drive of 2.5 hours) for the charter flight back to Brazzaville, arriving in the afternoon. Connect to your onward flight.
