Details

Day 1: Arrive in one the most beautiful cities on the planet: Cape Town, South Africa

Arrive in Cape Town and privately transfer to city-centre boutique hotel accommodation.

Set between the slopes of Table Mountain and the wide Atlantic ocean, Cape Town is a city that immediately draws you in. Table Mountain gives one of the most beautiful cities in the world its shape and its mood, shifting from soft morning mist to sharp, clear afternoon light. Beneath the mountain, neighbourhoods like the vibrant Bo‑Kaap add splashes of colour and rich history, while the V&A Waterfront blends working harbour life with cafés, small shops, and the easy bustle of people exploring.

The coastline is one of Cape Town’s great spectacles: long beaches, tidal pools, and cliff‑hugging roads like Chapman’s Peak Drive that reveal a new view with every bend. It’s a city where you can spend the morning on a mountain path, the afternoon by the sea, and the evening discovering a restaurant tucked into a side street.

The diverse landscapes, eclectic culture, cuisine, and a relaxed rhythm encourage you to slow down and take it all. It’s a magical place that feels welcoming from the start, and one that lingers in memory long after you have moved on.

Day 2: Walk Table Mountain and the shipwrecked beaches at the tip of the peninsula and visit an African Penguin colony

This morning you’ll cable car ascend / descend Table Mountain where from the upper cable station you’ll take an easy walk that traverses the mountain’s fynbos-covered plateau to the highest point above sea level. On this walk experience the uninterrupted panoramic views out over Cape Town and across the vast Atlantic ocean to Robben Island.

You then take a scenic drive over Chapman’s Peak – considered one of the most spectacular coastal marine drives in the world – to Cape Point Nature Reserve at the tip of the Cape Peninsula ‘where the two oceans meet’. The reserve is a coastal sanctuary of dramatic cliffs, white-sand beaches, windswept landscapes and roaming wildlife, including chacma baboons, various antelope and Cape mountain zebra’s.

You take an easy walk of around 1.5 hours to the famous shipwrecks along the beaches like the 1942 World War II Liberty ship SS Thomas T. Tucker along established paths to the shoreline and the skeletons of the historic wrecks.

Rounding off your full day of mountain air and coastal breezes you’ll dine on locally prepared cuisine during an evening of vibrant traditional drumming.

Day 3: Discover the Cape Winelands

Your day is at leisure to wander between world‑class wine estates if you choose, art galleries, local farm kitchens, and shaded village streets where French influence meets contemporary South African creativity. It’s a place to taste exceptional wines, linger over chef‑driven farm-to-table cuisine, hike through fynbos‑rich slopes, meander through farm vineyards and gardens, and soak up a sense of history that feels both intimate and beautifully preserved.

This special arranged stay will include breakfast daily, one 3-course dinner for 2 at the awarded Moneaux Restaurant, 1 x Spa Treatment per room and complimentary transfers into Town.

Days 4-6: Tracking wildlife on foot in one of the best walking safaris places in the world

A scheduled flight takes you to Mutlumuvi Private Concession in the remote southern Kruger between the Sabie and Sand Rivers where 12,000 hectares of open grasslands, knob-thorn savanna and riverine thickets are the diverse landscapes for some of the best walking safaris in world. It’s a concession designed for walking, where the terrain, wildlife density, and expert guiding and four explorer-style tents come together to make every step feel purposeful and alive. At this intimate camp walking is not an add-on – it’s the entire philosophy and sets the benchmark for what walking safaris should feel like.

Your next three days at Plains Camp are spent almost entirely on foot. You greet the dawn with a long, unhurried walk tracking rhino, elephant and the fine-grained stories written into the sand. You rest through the heat of the day with the bush spread out around the waterhole, then head out again in the late afternoon for a second immersive walk as the light softens and the wilderness shifts into its evening rhythm.

On foot you encounter the full rhythm of the reserve: white rhino, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, and a healthy mix of plains game, with predators often read through their tracks, drag marks, scat, and fresh spoor rather than rushed sightings. Birdlife is excellent, and the landscape itself becomes part of your experience — the scent of wild basil, the architecture of termite mounds, the quiet of wide-open plains, the essence of the bush.

Walks are led by highly specialised, armed trails guides whose skill level is internationally respected; they don’t just show you animals, you’ll learn how to understand the bush the way those are in it and live it every day do.

Days 7-8: Victoria Falls and Tracking the last white rhino in Zambia on foot

You fly to the majestic Victoria Falls for two nights on the banks of the gently-flowing mighty Zambezi River.

Victoria Falls is one of the world’s great natural landmarks, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the Zambezi River plunges more than a hundred metres into a vast basalt gorge, creating the largest curtain of falling water on Earth. It’s a bucket‑list destination of big scenery, big atmosphere, and a truly iconic African experience

Your time is spent on an unforgettable sunset cruise on the Zambezi River under magnificent sunset skies which the greatest painter on earth has not been able to capture, taking a guided walking tour of the Falls where the rainforest walk offers multiple viewpoints with spectacular photo opportunities, the spray creates permanent rainbows, and the sheer scale of the Falls is both dramatic and breathtaking. You’ll be driven across border into Zambia to track Zambia’s last white rhino on foot where being in such close proximity to these gigantic animals will leave you with lasting memories. You will visit a local market while in Zambia and end your day dining on local cuisine to the vibrant beat of traditional drumming and dancing.

Days 9-11: Authentic, big‑game walking in Hwange’s wild northern wilderness in Zimbabwe

A small aircraft flight transports you into the remote, untamed north of Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park. The country’s oldest and largest Reserve, spanning roughly 5660 square miles, brings together the shifting sands of the Kalahari Desert and the dense Zambezi teak woodlands in a corridor for over 100 mammals, including Africa’s second-greatest concentration of elephant super herds numbering around 45,000.

Far removed from the congested tourist circuits of smaller African reserves, Hwange’s sheer scale allows apex predators, massive Cape buffalo super herds, and the endangered African wild dogs the breathing room to live out raw, untamed ecological dramas completely undisturbed

Hwange’s northern wilderness is walking‑safari heaven because it allows you space — real, quiet, animal‑rich space — for authentic tracking. Wide open plains, teak forests, and big, ancient elephant pathways let you follow spoor for kilometres, with lions, buffalo, and plains game moving through landscapes that feel untouched and unhurried. It’s wild, remote, and perfectly built for being on foot, where every step feels like you’re part of the bush rather than just passing through it.

You stay at Hwange Bush Camp which is the essence of old‑school safari: quiet, remote, and deeply connected to the land. Set in a private corner of Hwange’s northern wilderness, this mobile camp is authentic, canvas zipped tents with bucket showers that puts you right in the middle of big‑game country — elephants moving through the acacia, lions calling at night, and wide, open plains where you walk, track, and watch the bush unfold without crowds or vehicles. It’s a place where guiding is personal, wildlife is close, and the experience feels raw, authentic, and wonderfully unpolished in all the ways that make a safari unforgettable.

You spend your days here immersed in the rhythm of day to day life at a traditional safari mobile expeditions camp where a typical day at Hwange Bush Camp starts with a dawn walk, heading out early while the air is cool and the light is soft — the perfect time for tracking before the heat settles and animals move into shade. You follow fresh elephant paths, lion spoor and the quiet stir of plains game as the bush wakes. After returning to camp for a hearty brunch and a slow midday rest, you head out again in the afternoon for a relaxed game drive or another walk, exploring open grasslands, teak forests and waterholes as big game begins to move in the evening light. Dinner is fireside, with Hwange’s night sounds carrying through camp.

Day 12: Return to Victoria Falls Airport to connect to your homeward flights.
