Our Tanzania migration safaris have been hugely successful this season and guest have been treated to some once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
In the photos: vast herds of wildebeest and zebra move across the plains, often stretching as far as the eye can see.
Each year, over 1.5 million wildebeest and around 300,000 zebra take part in this epic journey, following seasonal rains in search of fresh grazing. The two species often travel together—zebra eat the longer grass, clearing the way for wildebeest, which prefer the shorter growth. Along the way, they face dramatic river crossings, predators on the prowl, and the challenges of survival in the wild. For many visitors, witnessing the Great Migration from the ground or the air is the highlight of their safari experience in Tanzania.
